ROMA (ITALPRESS) – Matteo Berrettini qualified in the quarterfinals at the Rio Open, ATP 500 on the land beat at the Jockey Club Brasileiro, the most prestigious tournament in Latin America (both $2.469.450). The blue beats Dusan Lajovic and becomes the second Italian after Fabio Fognini with at least two quarters in Rio. With a record of 24 victories and 5 defeats on the land beaten since the beginning of the 2023 season, Berrettini will face for the first time the 21-year-old Ignacio Buse (91 ATP), who defeated 5-7, 6-3, 6-4 the homeless Joao Fonseca (38) becoming the first Peruvian to reach the quarterfinals of an ATP 500.
