Between Glocal Impact Network and Telematic University IUL collaboration agreement

FIRENZE (ITALPRESS) – Glocal Impact Network Association and the Telematic University of IUL Studies have undersigned a Framework of three-year collaboration aimed at the joint design and realization of research, training and cultural design, with particular attention to the issues of sustainability, innovation and development of small Italian islands.
The IUL University provides training courses in national and international e-learning mode and is promoted by the INDIRE research agency. “The University is managed through a non-profit foundation, an element that further strengthened the value and strategic coherence of the partnership with Glocal Impact Network, committed since 2015 in the fields of innovation to development, systemic design and social design – reads in a note -. The agreement provides for the co-design of training courses in e-learning mode, high training courses, professional updating and university masters, as well as the development of joint research projects.”
The collaboration between Glocal Impact Network and IUL, in the first phase, will focus on two main guidelines: on the one hand, on the formative design and dissemination of knowledge in the small Italian islands, territories characterized by structural fragility but also by significant environmental, cultural and economic potential; on the other, on the projects of formation, sustainable development and transformative innovation that Glocal Impact Network is carrying out in the African continent.
The understanding will allow to develop distance-accessible training paths, exceeding the geographical limits of insularity and rural areas; to activate high-training programs on sustainability, territorial innovation and local development; to foster the growth of professional skills rooted in the territories; to strengthen the design capacity of local communities through applied research and knowledge transfer.
The agreement establishes a structured collaboration in the definition of teaching content, in the identification of teachers and tutors and in the joint promotion of initiatives.
For Giorgio Giorgi, president of Glocal Impact Network, “the partnership represents a strategic step in the consolidation of his mission: it becomes essential to have a training platform at his side capable of integrating scientific research, systemic design and transfer of knowledge as a sustainable transformation lever.
New technologies, combined with free access to information, can make knowledge truly accessible, overcoming geographical constraints and offering fragile territories such as small islands the possibility to connect to the contemporary. Digital environments and multilingualism promote mobility, intercultural exchange and validation of skills, strengthening the formation of profiles capable of operating in an increasingly global and complex ecosystem.”
“In recent years, the University – declares the Director General of the IUL Telematic University, Massimiliano Bizzocchi – has expanded its presence on the national territory. The attention has moved more structuredly towards those who live in areas with fragility or complicated connections. Distance learning can overcome these constraints and our effort goes precisely in the direction of creating a support for those who might encounter greater difficulties in choosing an effective and qualified course of studies. This agreement, therefore, strengthens our role of telematic universities capable of generating impact in the territories through innovative and inclusive training models.”.
