WASHINGTON (UNITED STATES) (ITALPRESS) – “Last month I spoke in Washington about the crucial actions we have taken to save the economy from the devastating damage caused by the way the pandemic was handled, in my view.” This was said by outgoing U.S. President Joe Biden during a lecture at the Brookings Institution in Washington, DC. The occasion included a review of the performance of the economy in the United States over the past four years under the Biden-Harris administration.
“We’ve returned to full employment, we’ve reduced inflation, we’ve managed a soft landing that most people thought was not much like what would happen here today,” Biden continued. “We’ve undertaken to rebuild the economy over the long term, you know. We are at a critical time because of the direction the economy will take next month when my administration ends and the new administration begins. The new administration will inherit a fairly strong economy, at least for the time being.”
“The economy is going through a fundamental transformation, this has laid a stronger foundation, sustainable, broad-based and highly productive growth, and my deep hope is that the new administration will preserve and build on this progress that is not a matter of red or blue. American progress is everyone’s progress,” he stressed.
The latest employment data for November is positive and is partly a hoax for the Democrats, who lost the election partly because of inflation. In this last month, 227,000 jobs were created. This result is certainly a confirmation of a positive trend that had, however, suffered a setback in October with only 12 thousand new jobs created. This is a figure that heavily affected the November 5 elections that paved the way for Donald Trump to return to the White House.
These are numbers that exceeded economists’ expectations. Specifically, the increase in hiring in November was likely due to the return to work of workers at Boeing and other companies who were on strike in October. There was also a 0.4 percent increase in average wages, whereby the U.S. average was $35.61 per hour.
