Biraghi’s own goal decides, Bologna-Torino 3-2

BOLOGNA (ITALPRESS) – Bologna overcame Torino 3-2 in the match at the Dall’Ara valid for the 25th day of the 2024/2025 Serie A championship: Ndoye’s brace and Biraghi’s own goal in the final decided. The hosts try to start strong right away going to the conclusion after just two minutes with Castro, who, however, does not hit the goal mirror. In the 11th minute Pobega tried from the distance, but Milinkovic-Savic was alert and repelled. A minute later, the match director awards a penalty kick to the Felsinians for an alleged foul by Linetty on Ndoye but, after a Var review, decides to revoke the penalty. Despite this episode, Bologna still managed to find the lead at the 20′ mark thanks to Dan Ndoye’s goal, who received the ball from Pobega, skipped past Saulo Coco and deposited in the back of the net. Vincenzo Italiano’s men continued to play the game, getting on target several times with Pobega, Castro and Ndoye, but Milinkovic-Savic always responded. On 27′ Vlasic triggered Adams who came in front of Skorupski, who managed to contain him by deflecting it into a corner. As the minutes went by, Torino also upped the tempo and in 37′ grabbed the equalizer through Nikola Vlasic: the Croatian took advantage of Maripan’s assist in the center of the box and fulminated Skorupski. Three minutes later, the Granata came very close to overtaking with Adams who, after a one-two with Karamoh, squandered a good chance by kicking weakly. It goes, therefore, to rest on the partial 1-1. In the second half to build the first dangerous chance are again the red and blue, with Miranda who, at 57′, kicks on the volley finding the prompt opposition of Coco. Coach Paolo Vanoli tried to shake up his team with substitutions, which immediately bore the hoped-for fruits: at 65′, the newly-entered Elmas, on a suggestion from Adams, first rifles a tunnel to Beukema and then beats Skorupski with a delightful touch, bringing the Granata ahead. Not even time to rejoice for the guests, when at 70′ Bologna won a penalty kick for a foul by Casadei on Pobega: from the penalty spot came Dan Ndoye, who sealed his personal double and brought the game back to a draw. The Swiss striker is unleashed and on two occasions comes close to a hat trick, but Milinkovic-Savic manages to patch it up by saving his own. In the final Adams, on Casadei’s bank, tried to make himself dangerous but Skorupski deflected over the crossbar. When the game seemed to be heading for a draw, on 90′ Castro went on a counterattack and shot, finding Biraghi’s unfortunate deflection that effectively handed the 3-2 victory to the hosts. By virtue of this result, Bologna climbs to seventh place with 41 points, while Torino remains 11th at 28. Both teams will return to the pitch on Saturday, February 22: the Emilians will host Parma at the Tardini, while the Piedmontese will take on AC Milan at the Olimpico Grande Torino. – Photo Image -(ITALPRESS).
