Blanc wins Crans Montana SuperG in front of Sofia Goggia

CRANS MONTANA (SVIZZERA) (ITALPRESS) – Malorie Blanc blows the counter in the supergiant of Crans Montana. First career win in the World Cup for Swiss, which triumphs over the snows at home with the time of 1’17′′′34. The success of nothing is a great Sofia Goggia, second to 0′′′18, which confirms the red bib of discipline and approaches the Olympic Games of Milan-Cortina in the best possible form:

“I must say that I am satisfied. I made a couple of mistakes, especially high, but I felt I had speed and this is very important. I think it’s the best way to show up at the Olympics. I am pleased with my performance and have kept the red breastplate of leader of the specialty. I am well physically and mentally, and I think I can bring the best version of myself to the Cortina races”, the words of Bergamo, which climbs in seventh position in the overall standings with 586 points.

In the third place the American Breezy Johnson (+0′′′36), which for six cents takes the podium to Roberta Melesi. The 29-year-old of Ballabio, descended with the pectoral number 2, finished fourth at 0′′42 by Blanc. “I try to give the most in every race, unfortunately of superG we made a few, I know that in the most technical tracks I can be competitive. Lost the podium burns me a lot, but I take the good and go ahead,” Melesi says.

On the return to speed, Federica Brignone closes 18th to 1′′28 from the top. Dangerous slip in the upper part for Milan, which arrives at the finish line with several tenths lost between the second and the third sector. “I didn’t get the race as I thought I would interpret it. On the Bosse du President – the reference to the central part – I made a half head-tail and almost turned around, here and there I made mistakes. But it was not as I had imagined,” the analysis of the Valdostana. At points also Nicol Delago (27th to 1′′′81), just outside the 30 Asja Zenere and Nadia Delago.

Unbelievable chance slipped by Laura Pirovano, who exits at the last door while traveling half a second on Blanc. It would have been the first victory and the first career podium: “I’m sorry for today. It seemed like a final to attack because I didn’t think there were any particular difficulties and I didn’t feel like I attacked so much. On the contrary, I was wrong, I took the last dossus that overwhelmed me out of trajectory”, says a discouraged Pirovano. Forced for Elena Curtoni, exit from the track on the skis but painful to the right arm. Lindsey Vonn didn’t leave, attacked by the fall in yesterday’s descent in Crans Montana. The Women’s World Cup now stops and looks at Milan Cortina.
