NAPOLI (ITALPRESS) – The Carabinieri of the Investment Nucleus of the Castello di Cisterna Group have carried out an order of precaution issued by the GIP of the Tribunal of Naples, at the request of the Anti-Mafia District Direction, against 44 persons (for 34 of them the incarceration of the custody, for 10 the measure of the house arrests).
They are accused of mafia-type association as well as association aimed at the abusive exercise of games and bets, extortion, attempted extortion, crimes aggravated by the mafia method and the purpose of facilitating their respective camoristic clans of belonging, as well as political electoral exchange – mafioso.
The survey -relative to the period 2022 – 2024- also consisted of interceptions (telephonic and environmental) and observation services.
The continued operation of the Russian clan, active in the territory of Nola and neighboring municipalities, which exercised its control, direct and indirect, of all economic activities, especially in the real estate branch, claiming the payment of sums of money on the real estate trades, on the planning procedures and on the procedure of the relative practices to the municipality for the works to be realized, subsequently sharing the proceeds between the associates and giving the money of the relatives.
Various extorsive conducts, to the detriment of municipal technicians, designers, entrepreneurs, business owners, to acquire properties or to allow third parties the purchase or construction. It has also emerged a system aimed at the illegal exercise of gambling and betting activities, which would have been realized, in agreement with members of the Licciardi clan, by the Russian clan with agencies and sub-agencies operating in the nolan, through the clandestine collection of bets and the management of online games in money, with the prior creation and management of clandestine sites; the proceeds of such activity would be partly destined to the register of the association, in other part for the support to the associates held;
In the course of the survey, further extortionive conduct has emerged in the damage of the holders of the betting centers in order to obtain the payment of the debts accrued by their participation in the illegal exercise of games and bets;
the alleged condition of the administrative elections in the Municipality of Cicciano, held in May 2023, and those of the Municipality of Casamarciano, held in June 2022, resorting to the intermediation of third persons.
