Bologna runner-up in Venice, Orsolini’s big goal decides

VENICE (ITALPRESS) – Bologna’s march does not stop, and despite some difficulties in the first half, it defeated Venezia 1-0 with a feat by Orsolini and confirmed its fourth place position.

COMMENTARY AND SCOREBOARD OF COMO-EMPOLI

Initially, the Laggunarians, deprived of the disqualified Nicolussi Caviglia, struggle to get out of their own half and leave the initiative to the guests. Cambiaghi is the author of the first insidious shot, Dallinga instead badly on Orsolini’s assist. Lots of mistakes in construction for both teams, with the match only lighting up after the half-hour mark. Paradoxically, it’s Venezia that has the best chances, with Skorupski decisive on Zerbin and Idzes grazing the net with a header. Bologna immediately reacted from corners with Beukema, then was treacherous in the recovery: Radu saved everything, it was 0-0 after the first 45′.

However, the challenge is immediately unlocked in the second half, with Cambiaghi’s cross and Orsolini’s magic: a volley that leaves Radu no chance, at 48′ it’s 1-0. There is a repeat of the outfielder’s jubilation, knocking on the camera as if to ask for an explanation for his lack of call-up to the national team, and Bologna anesthetize the match.

For a quarter of an hour the rhythms are very low, then the match suddenly reignites: Kike Perez engages Skorupski, while Idzes avoids Odgaard’s encore. The best chance is once again Venice’s, at 69′: Busio grazes the equalizing net from a good position. Italiano also inserts Ndoye, triple change for Di Francesco, who plays the card-Yeboah: just the Ecuador national goes very close to equalizing, Skorupski decisive. The changes do not change the inertia of the match, with the Laguna players trying to make themselves dangerous thanks to a wild Zerbin and Bologna controlling. So it comes to the final minutes, in which Venezia does not create chances and Bologna comes close to an encore with Estanis Pedrola.

The Felsinei win 1-0, remaining fourth and rising to 56 points: fifth success in a row for Italiano and his team. It complicates the dream-salvation for Venezia, which stops at 20 points in penultimate place.
