Brescia, kidnapping for extortion purposes: 9 arrests

BRESCIA (ITALPRESS) – Nine Indian citizens have been reached by cautionary measures for the alleged seizure and violence against a compatriot, forced according to accusations to deliver money, credit cards and make a transfer. Eight were taken to jail and one was placed under house arrest. The measures were carried out this morning by the State Police at the end of an investigation by the Brescia Mobile Team, coordinated by the Procura della Repubblica-Direzione distrettuale antimafia.

The investigation began with the arrest in scourgence, on 9 January in Ghedi, of three Indian citizens who would lead a compatriot and the mother of the same in a post office to force them to withdraw 6 thousand euros, threatening them with semiautomatic guns. The victims were able to ask for help from a police officer free of service and local police in the office. The three had been arrested and found in possession of two guns, one of which was stolen.

The investigators have therefore reconstructed that already from the afternoon of January 8 the victim would be seized and beaten by the compatriots and conduct, encappucciata, in a farmhouse in the province of Rovigo. Here she would be stripped and subjected to violence to force her to deliver the money in her availability, credit cards and to make a transfer in favor of one of the inquiries.

The violence would have been filmed, with the threat of divulging the videos if the victim did not comply with the demands. On the morning of 9 January the man would be transferred to the province of Reggio Emilia and locked up in a house, where he would have suffered further violence before being taken to the post office of Ghedi. Five of the nine investigators are also seriously suspected of bringing semiautomatic pistols and ammunition to the public without authorization.

One of the arrested, already stopped in January, is recipient of a precautionary measure also for possession on your mobile phone of pedopornographic material. The operations have collaborated with the Furniture Teams of Caserta, Bergamo, Cremona, Mantova, Reggio Emilia, Rovigo and Vicenza, as well as the Crime Prevention Departments and the unsightly cynofile units.
