ROME (ITALPRESS) – Atalanta’s streak of consecutive victories came to an end at the Stadio Olimpico at 11, but it was Gian Piero Gasperini’s side that smiled at the end of the 1-1 draw against Lazio. After Dele-Bashiru’s goal in the first half, it was Brescianini’s goal in the 88th minute that saved the Bergamasks and allowed Dea to defend first place in the standings on 41 points, one more than Inter (next opponent in the semifinals in the Super Cup and with a match to make up). One half each for the two teams: Lazio dominated the first, but waned in the second half also accomplice to the short bench (Gigot, Pellegrini, Castrovilli, Isaksen and Dia the only movement players). However, what was seen in the first 45′ is a load of confidence and self-esteem ahead of the January 5 derby against Roma. Lots of chances, the first at 11′: Carnesecchi says no to Castellanos twice in the same action, then it is Guendouzi who kicks from the distance but the crossbar denies the Frenchman the joy of the goal. On 27′ came the 1-0: Rovella rewarded the insertion of Dele-Bashiru, who from one-on-one with Carnesecchi did not miss. At halftime Gasperini spent a double change: out went Hien (cautioned) and Zappacosta, in came Kossounou and Cuadrado. It is the former Juventus man at 53′ who has the 1-1 ball, but his header on Bellanova’s cross ends up on the outside of the net. Instead, at 61′ it took Provedel’s nails to deflect Lookman’s right-footed shot into a corner. At 65′ it’s time for the booed Zaniolo, who takes the place of a spent De Ketelaere. The sharpest chance, however, comes from Lookman, who on the development of a cross from a corner kicks from a yard out, but finds a save on the line by Pellegrini. The 1-1 is postponed until the 88th minute: Zaniolo imbues for Lookman who catches the Biancoceleste defense by surprise and serves the newly entered Brescianini the ball to put into the net. A point apiece before a 2025 that opens with the stracittadina for Lazio and the Italian Super Cup for Atalanta.- Image Photo -(ITALPRESS).
