Brignone bis victory in giant slalom at Sestriere, Goggia fourth

SESTRIERE (ITALPRESS) – Federica Brignone makes it a double in Sestriere. The Valle d’Aosta native wins the home giant slalom and repeats yesterday’s success by finishing in 2’08″81, ahead of Switzerland’s Lara Gut-Behrami and New Zealand’s Alice Robinson, 0″77 and 0″79 behind, respectively. It was the 34th win and 79th podium for Brignone, a fresh rainbow winner between the wide poles, who stretches another 20 points overall over Gut. Super comeback by Sofia Goggia, who finishes in fourth place after a good 13 positions recovered (second run time behind Brignone). Lara Colturi also did well, who is sixth at 1″66 with six places climbed. Also in the top ten were AJ Hurt, 7th at 1″85, Paula Moltzan, 8th at 1″95, Thea Louise Stjernesund, 9th at 1″98, and Camille Rast, 10th at 2″10.
