MILAN (ITALPRESS) – It closes with another blue-colored masterpiece, a historical day for the winter sports world: six medals in a few hours, which lead Italy to nine overall podiums after two days. The last seal comes from figure skating and from that Team Event which, since the very first qualifying rounds, had severed permanently in the podium-zone. Italy had built a good margin on the chasers (Georgia and Japan) with the second place of Guignard-Fabbri in dance and defended it in the last day of races: Macii-Conti (coppie), Naki Gutmann (female single) and Rizzo (male single) defended the third podium. Strepitous, in particular, the free program created by the latter to seal and armor the medal (179.62 points). Gold goes to the United States with 69 total points, silver to Japan (68) and Italy is bronze with 59 points. ATTESA PER LA SECONDA RUN MASCHILE
Emanuel Rieder e Simon Kainzwaldner chiudono al terzo posto la prima run nel doppio maschile. I due azzurri tagliano il traguardo in 52″499, a soli 0″017 di ritardo dagli statunitensi DiGregorio/Haugsjaa. Secondi gli austriaci Steu/Kindl a 0″003 dalla vetta. In piena lotta per le medaglie anche i tedeschi Eggert/Mueller (+0″097) e Wendl/Arlt (+0″101), i lettoni Bots/Plume (+0″122) e l’altra coppia italiana formata da Ivan Nagler e Fabian Malleier che occupa la settima piazza a 0″165 dal primo posto. Alle 19.45 la seconda e ultima run dove si assegneranno le medaglie.
BUONFIGLIO “L’ORO DELLO SLITTINO DA’ VALORE ALLA NUOVA PISTA”
“L’oro nello slittino? Questo risultato dà valore alla nuova pista e fa sì che non dovremo andare all’estero per allenarci e potremo stare a casa nostra. Dobbiamo fare in modo che questa pista funzioni tutti i giorni e che la sua gestione produca un ritorno di investimento con l’obiettivo di far avvicinare tutti allo sport”. Queste le parole, in zona mista, del presidente del Coni Luciano Buonfiglio dopo l’oro di Voetter/Oberhofer nello slittino donne. “Stiamo cercando di essere vicini a tutte le atlete e di supportare tutte le discipline. La preparazione olimpica è il frutto di un grande lavoro di squadra e si vede dal fatto che stiamo vincendo tante medaglie in discipline diverse”, aggiunge Buonfiglio, che guarda al futuro: “Ci candideremo per i Mondiali e gli Europei per portare turismo ed economia ad un altro livello”.
