ROME (ITALPRESS) – By 2025, 111 new buses will be delivered by Busitalia (FS Group), for a total investment of 44 million euros, and new strategic connections for sustainable mobility will be activated.
These are the main innovations presented during the conference held at the BMT Fair – Borsa Mediterranea del Turismo, in Naples, in the presence of Busitalia CEO and General Manager Serafino Lo Piano. “Busitalia is investing in new buses for integrated tourist mobility with the national and international rail network,” said Serafino Lo Piano, CEO and General Manager of Busitalia. “By summer, we will activate new connections in synergy with Trenitalia to reach the heart of tourist destinations, contributing concretely to a modern and sustainable tourist mobility.”
Busitalia’s new buses represent a significant evolution for tourist transportation, ensuring high standards of comfort and accessibility. They will be equipped with ergonomic seats, USB, USB-C and 230V outlets for each pair of seats, Wi-Fi connection and dedicated spaces for people with disabilities.
In addition, the new buses will have advanced safety systems, including 360-degree vision cameras and digital mirrors on some models, improving the travel experience for all passengers. In response to the growth in tourist traffic and the expansion of flight offerings, Busitalia is enhancing Airlink services, providing fast and comfortable connections between major cities and airports.
April 14 kicks off the spring offering of Orio al Serio Airlink, a new service connecting Verona Porta Nuova FS Station and Brescia with Bergamo-Orio al Serio Airport. Padua-Venice Airport, the direct and frequent connection between the center of Padua and Venice Marco Polo Airport; Umbria Airlink, the connection between Perugia, Assisi and Umbria International Airport, with schedules in synergy with trains to ensure smooth and wait-free travel; Salerno Airlink, the service that connects Salerno train station to Salerno Costa d’Amalfi Airport. All Airlink services are designed for an intermodal travel experience, with optimized connections between shuttle buses and regional or High Speed Trenitalia trains.
Starting March 30, 2025, Lake Trasimeno will see a significant increase in daily connections to its islands. Departures from Passignano sul Trasimeno, Tuoro and Castiglione del Lago will be enhanced, ensuring an even more accessible, efficient and effective boat service designed to meet the needs of tourists and residents and to further enhance the lake’s natural and cultural heritage.
