MILANO (ITALPRESS) – BYD presents to European customers the ATTO 2 DM-i, which combines the exceptional efficiency of Super Hybrid technology with Dual Mode to a spacious and rich in innovative solutions. After the success of the SEAL U DM-i, best-selling between plug-ins hybrids in different European markets, and the SEAL 6, available in sedan and station wagon, the Super Hybrid technology with DM now lands on the ATTO 2 DM-i, ready to redefine the concept of compact SUV. This model combines the fluidity of driving typical of an electric car with a total autonomy of up to 1000 km, offering customers the freedom of electric mobility with the tranquility of a hybrid support system. “Super Hybrid technology with DM is the ideal step for those who want to experience electric driving without worrying about autonomy. BYD ATTO 2 DM-i blends the strong style of a SUV with compact dimensions: 4.330 mm in length, 1.830 mm in width and 1.675 mm in height, with a step of 2.620 mm in order to maximise the interior space and maintain low overhangs. The front adopts full LED headlights and thin daylights, for a strong and modern presence, while the bumper with sharp lines and vertical air outlets improves aerodynamic efficiency. The sculpted sides and the “floating” roof create a dynamic and refined profile, while at the back stand the “Chinese knot” lights united by a horizontal light bar and the upper spoiler that recalls the sporty style of the brand. Compared to the electric version, the DM-i introduces a larger front grill, new decorative details on the bumper and a different layout of the rear logos. It is available in four colours, including the new Midnight Blue, exclusive for Super Hybrid versions.
The ATTO 2 DM-i brings the revolutionary Super Hybrid technology with DM (Dual Mode) into the compact SUV segment, offering unprecedented performance, silence and autonomy.
The system, already successfully tested on SEAL U DM-i and SEAL 6 DM-i models, combines high-speed electric motors, Blade Battery and 1.5 litre Xiaoyun petrol engine with a record thermal efficiency of 43.04%. The system can operate in two modes: EV, in which the wheels are moved only by the electric motor; HEV, where the thermal engine recharges the battery and assists the electric motor, maintaining the driving sensation of an EV. When serving more power, the HEV mode switches from Series to Parallel, combining both engines. The result is a system that works most of the time as an electric, with up to 90 km of zero-emission autonomy, and a combined weighted average consumption of 1.8 L/100 km, for a total of 1000 km of travel combined with a full charging and a full fuel. Acceleration 0-100 km/h in 7.5 seconds and maximum speed of 180 km/h complete a balanced profile between efficiency and performance. Two configurations available: Active: 7.8 kWh battery, 122 kW of power, 40 km of electricity and 930 km total. Boost: 18 kWh battery, 156 kW of power, 90 km of electricity and up to 1000 km total, with 6.6 kW AC charger (charge 15-100% in about 3 hours). The interiors of the ATTO 2 DM-i combine quality materials, generous space and smart technology. The dashboard integrates a 8.8′′′ digital screen and a 12.8′′ central touchscreen, with updated multimedia system and gesture control. The new voice assistant “Hi BYD” is empowered by AI generative and advanced language models, able to respond naturally and understand prolonged and contextual dialogues.
The Boost version adds panoramic glass roof, electric and heated front seats, heated steering wheel, darkened rear windows and 50W wireless charging. The 425 litre trunk expands to 1335 litres by lowering the rear seats. Standard on all versions: Multiple airbags, adaptive speed control, automatic emergency braking, blind angle detection, lane maintenance, road signal recognition and much more. The Boost version also includes the Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) function, which allows to power external devices up to 3.3 kW.
The new BYD ATTO 2 DM-i will arrive in European markets at the beginning of 2026. As with all BYD models, it offers 6 years manufacturer warranty and 8 years on battery and traction system.
From now on the new ATTO 2 DM-i Boost, the top-of-the-range version, available for launch and for the first customers, can be ordered in all BYD dealers at the promo price of 26,500 euros without any scraping or permutation bond. Alternatively, it is available with a rata of 189 euros per month (anticipus 5.290 euros, TAN 6.82%). The Boost version stands out for the 18 kWh battery, the 156 kW of power, up to 90 km of 100% electric autonomy and up to 1,000 km of total autonomy.
