ROME (ITALPRESS) – President Emeritus of Confapi and the European Confederation of SMEs, Forza Italia deputy, Maurizio Casasco, was awarded today by the 6libera Association with the distinction of “Distinguished Guarantor of Women’s Rights,” during the “Ripartiamo dai Diritti” conference organized at CNEL, with the following motivation: “For her extraordinary commitment to women’s empowerment and gender equality, not only at the national level, but also internationally. With her authoritative institutional position now held in Parliament and, her extraordinary leadership for more than a decade of the Confederation of Small and Medium Industries, she has been able to project Italy to the forefront of the debate on the inclusion of women in the world of work. Her forward-looking vision has placed SMEs at the center of a new, more equitable and sustainable model of economic and social development where women can fully express their potential. Her commitment took the form of actions that led to tangible results. A leading role in the political debate: she has been able to make the voice of SMEs heard in the most important institutional venues, helping to shape policies at the national and European level in favor of women entrepreneurs and businesses in general; a pioneer in the fight against harassment and violence at work: she supported and promoted the birth of the first Observatory against harassment and violence against women, “6libera.org,” giving concrete implementation to the agreement signed during her presidency, by Confapi, CGIL, CISL and UIL in 2018.” “I am proud and grateful for this prestigious recognition, which is not only a personal honor, but an encouragement to continue with even greater strength and conviction on a path that is still long and full of challenges,” Casasco commented. “Every day,” he continued, “so many women fight for their freedom, their dignity, and for the recognition of their fundamental rights. The data are alarming; there is still much to be done to raise awareness, educate, and promote a culture of equality and respect. Families, schools, businesses, institutions: we all need to stand by women in this battle,” he concluded.
