Chieti, father and son reported for drug possession and dealing

CHIETI (ITALPRESS) – The Chieti Provincial Command has launched a series of extraordinary controls, in the territory of Ortona and Francavilla al Mare, aimed at preventing episodes of petty crime and in particular those related to drug dealing and consumption.

In detail, the military officers of the local Lieutenancy concentrated, in six separate services in the first two months of the current year, their activities in places of major youth gatherings and near educational institutions, especially around the time of “Carnival,” seizing a total of 170 grams of hashish, 30 grams of marijuana and 3 grams of cocaine.

As a result of the operations, four people were reported to the Prefecture of Chieti for possession of drugs for personal use, while three individuals-two of whom, a father and a minor son-were reported to the Public Prosecutor’s Office at the Ordinary Court of Chieti and the Public Prosecutor’s Office at the Juvenile Court of L’Aquila for possession for the purpose of dealing.

Singular, in regard to the latter, the manner through which the financiers arrived at the result-after stopping the two in the car driven by the father, whose obvious signs of nervousness were caught, the minor promptly attempted to hide his fanny pack under his jacket.

The intuition to deepen the control proved well-founded, allowing the discovery, inside the accessory, of several doses of hashish (additional quantities of narcotics emerged, in the parent’s home, during subsequent house searches) and cash.

Investigations are still ongoing to identify the drug recipients, presumably young people from the area. The criminal proceedings are currently at the preliminary investigation stage, and the principle of presumption of innocence until final judgment applies to the suspects.
