TARANTO (ITALPRESS) – The Carabinieri del Nucleo Investigativo del Reparto Operativo del Comando Provinciale Carabinieri di Taranto have performed an order of custody, issued by the G.I.P. of the Court of Lecce at the request of the local Antimafia District Direction, with the arrest of two 57 years, impaired, accused of murder aggravated by premeditation and mafia method. The investigations allowed to reopen and shed full light on a real “cold houses”, which remained unresolved for over a decade.
The facts date back to October 14, 2013, when a construction contractor of Pulsano (Taranto) was killed in an ambush while he was returning to his home. In the circumstances, the victim, while on board his car, had been hit by at least 10 9-gauge bullets, shot by a man who, immediately after, had lost his tracks. “The emerged picture strongly returns the mafia nature of the crime – the carabinieri explain in a note –. At the base there would be a motive rooted in a spiral of violence and overwhelm: on the one hand, contrasts linked to the work of the building enterprise, considered by the incomplete steward regarding the time of execution of the works; on the other and above all, an earlier and violent confrontation that the latter had had with the victim”.
On this occasion, the alleged steward – who had attempted an armed assault on the damage of the entrepreneur – would have been disarmed of the knife, overwhelmed and struck, reporting serious injuries such as to make hospital shelter necessary. An episode that, in the criminal context of reference, had assumed a much deeper meaning than a simple quarrel: a public humiliation, a loss of prestige and authority that, according to the mafia logic, could not remain unpunished. It is precisely in this key that the motive assumes a central importance: that wave, matured over time (the clash had happened 3 years before the murder) and fed by the grudge, had to be necessarily “washed”. The murder would be configured, as an exemplary punitive action, aimed at restoring a compromised criminal balance and reaffirming, with violence, prestige and intimidating ability of the dominant subject. The investigations also highlighted how the commissioner had carefully planned each phase, preparing an alibi and adopting measures to circumvent the investigation.
