Comuzzo, Savona and Rovella among Spalletti’s 23 Azzurri

ROME (ITALPRESS) – Last two engagements in the Nations League group for the national team, which will face Belgium on Thursday, Nov. 14 at the ‘King Baldovinò Stadium in Brussels and then host France on Sunday, Nov. 17 at the ‘Giuseppe Meazzà Stadium in Milan. Leading the League A Group 2 standings with a one-length advantage over the Bleus and six over the Red Devils, Italy will only need to pick up one point in two matches to qualify for the tournament’s quarterfinals. Coach Luciano Spalletti, who will be among the honorees at the ‘Italian Football Hall of Fame’ on Monday afternoon, has summoned 23 players: first call-ups to the senior national team for Fiorentina defender Pietro Comuzzo, Juventus defender Nicolò Savona and Lazio midfielder Nicolò Rovella. Nicolò Barella, who has been absent since the European Championship, will return to the Azzurri jersey. The national team will assemble in the evening of Sunday, Nov. 10, at Coverciano, where it will train until the morning of Wednesday, Nov. 13, before heading to Brussels in the afternoon. In the aftermath of the match with Belgium, the Azzurri will move to Milan and prepare the challenge with France in Appiano Gentile at the Angelo Moratti Sports Center.
