SAN MARINO (ITALPRESS) – This morning at the Secretariat of State for Tourism of the Republic of San Marino was held the award ceremony of the Honorifice of the Commendatore of the Order of Sant’Agata to Professor Alessandra Priante, President of ENIT – National Agency of Italian Tourism.
The award was awarded in recognition of the prestigious professional path of Professor Priante and his continuous and constant collaboration offered to the Republic of San Marino, the Secretariat of State for Tourism and the Office of Tourism. Alessandra Priante, first woman and first Italian to take over the role of Director for Europe of the United Nations Tourism Agency (UNtourism), led the most representative region of the Organization, promoting innovative policies and strengthening dialogue and cooperation between public and private sectors and then being called to lead, as President of the National Tourist Board ENIT.
During the pandemic crisis, Professor Priante played a decisive role in the management of the most serious emergency ever faced by tourism globally, contributing to the activation of strategic instruments such as the Global Crisis Committee for Tourism and the international campaign #RestartTourism, initiatives that favoured a coordinated recovery of the sector and reaffirmed the role of Italy in international contexts, with positive reflections also for the Republic of San Marino.
He has always shown particular attention and closeness to the Republic of San Marino, supporting the development of synergies and collaborations in the tourist sector and promoting an integrated vision of valorization of the territories. The numerous events organized in San Marino and has favored the drafting of the San Marino Action Agenda on Accessible Tourism and its compendium of good practices that have made San Marino a permanent hub of discussion on the theme. He has supported San Marino and its international projects with constant commitment, in favour of the relationship between ENIT and the Tourist Office in the numerous and continuous collaborations and today the deep tune with the values of the Republic and the incessant support are recognized with the conferment of the honour an act of high institutional relevance.
To give the honour was the Secretary of State for Tourism, Federico Pedini Amati, who stressed the symbolic and substantial value of the award: “With this bestowal – he said – the Republic of San Marino intends to express its gratitude to Professor Alessandra Priante for her extraordinary contribution to international tourism and for the constant attention shown towards our country. An authentic friendship, built over the years, which today finds a formal and felt testimony”.
Professor Priante expressed with emotion the appreciation for recognition, reaffirming the link of esteem and collaboration with the Republic of San Marino and the importance of continuing to work together for sustainable, innovative and shared tourism development. “Receiving this title – the words of the Printe – is for me a great honor and a reason for deep gratitude. San Marino is a reality with which, over time, a relationship based on mutual esteem, constant dialogue and concrete collaboration, also in multilateral and international contexts,” said Alessandra Priante. “I have always considered tourism not only as an economic lever, but as an instrument of cultural diplomacy capable of approaching countries, enhancing their identity and strengthening relations based on shared values. I interpret this recognition as a sign of attention towards a work carried out with a spirit of service and institutional vision,” the President of ENIT concluded.
The Director of the Tourist Office Annachiara Sica, present at the ceremony stressed: “The collaboration with ENIT and Professor Priante represents an opportunity of great strategic value for the Tourism Office of the Republic of San Marino. The comparison with high-profile skills and with the Italian national agency of tourist promotion allows to strengthen the position of our destination, enhancing its identity and ability to dialogue in an increasingly structured way with international markets”.
