In Italy the totality of the used oils is collected, and 98% of them is regenerated, returning to new life as a lube base. In other European countries, however, the collection is less complete and only about 60% of the oils are regenerated, while the rest is intended for combustion. This difference, significant and structural, is the direct result of the Italian consortium model, capable of combining environmental and economic efficiency.
