ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The Board of Directors of Consap S.p.A. met today under the chairmanship of Sestino Giacomoni and approved all points on the agenda. In particular, the Board of Directors approved the Rendiconto 2024 concerning the guarantee fund for the victims of the road that records a surplus of more than 10 million euros, which brings the equity to 31 December 2024 to approximately 480 million euros.
Revenues for contributions – determined by the premiums paid by car insurance companies and born on the basis of the rate of 2.5% – totalled more than 321 million euros, up 7% compared to the previous year. At the same time, compensations (which in 2024 amounted to more than 50,000) and management costs recognised by intermediaries increased by 4% compared to 2023 and were also 321 million euros. The results achieved therefore allow a perfect balance of the ordinary management of the Fund, in light of which there is no need to request a revision of the contribution rate for 2026.
“To understand the relevant social function of the Fund for the victims of the Road, it is enough to remember that, in the last 30 years, people involved in accidents with uninsured vehicles were more than 1 million and were paid by the Road Fund a total of 9 billion euros – said Sestino Giacomoni, President of Consap -. The Consap Board will implement all possible ways to increase the collection capacity of approximately 2 billion pre-accessions still to be recovered, even through a pilot project authorized by the vigilante ministry. Consap’s ability to maintain the balance of the Fund’s ordinary management is therefore a further demonstration of the efficiency of our Company which succeeds in translating itself into a full effectiveness of the Fund’s instrument, without the need for a review of the contribution rate.”.
The Council also shared a periodic update on Consap’s activities as an Ausiliary Contracting Station for the execution and management of safety measures to address the emergency caused by flood events in May 2023. In particular, at today’s date there are 216 interventions planned for an economic value of approximately 220 million euros.
“From the signing of the Convention to today, in less than a year, 216 interventions have been commissioned, for a total of more than 800 entrustments, and we have already started the first yard to which, shortly, will follow another six for as many reconstruction interventions – concluded Vincenzo Sanasi d’Arpe, CEO of Consap -. These results honor us and express, concretely, the ability of Consap to intervene in support of the community and the nation in relation to an activity on which we are investing a lot also in terms of human resources, focusing on specialized professionals able to guarantee quality, competence and seriousness throughout the entire cycle of contract activities”.
