ROME (ITALPRESS) – Cristiano Cerchiai is the new president of the Italian Golf Federation. At the Extraordinary Elective Assembly, which met at the Coni Hall of Honor, the president-elect garnered 2,648 votes, or 64.90 percent of the preferences, surpassing the other candidate Luca Collini who stopped at 929 votes, or 35.10 percent of the preferences. “During the next term of office, the Federation will move on the basis of compliance with a criterion of economic and financial sustainability. The watchword will be to create new members and grow the movement. I can assure you that with great humility and determination, we will work to achieve the set goals,” the new president’s words. “Surely the three main themes are: working on the change of communication, opening this confrontation with the whole world of professionals and technicians, and making available a support service to the circles. Let’s start from here and let’s grow from here, all together,” continued the new number 1 of Federgolf. “The movement can grow with a healthy and right communication, fighting against this perception that golf has today. Surely, by the end of the term we will see the positive sign on the number of members. I had a candidate who deserved the same fate as me. It is not a matter of difference in votes, I thank him because it was a challenging campaign. We are all great golf fans, now the important thing is that we start working for the growth of the movement,” he concluded. Subsequently, the Assembly also saw the election of councilors representing affiliates: Stella Coppi, Maria Amelia Lolli Ghetti, Franco Piras, Renato Cerioli, Stefano Frigeri, Alberto Treves De Bonfili, and Armando Antonio Carole Borghi. Representing the amateur athletes, Silvia Valli. Representing the professional athletes, Vittorio Andrea Vaccaro. Representing the technicians, Stefano Betti.
