Dacia Bigster, the hybrid SUV with large interior space

ROME (ITALPRESS) – With the new Bigster, Dacia sets out to conquer the C segment. Already the leader in the B segment in Europe, the Romanian manufacturer in the Renault galaxy has presented an essential, robust, eco-smart and affordable model.

The front end is massive, with a glossy black grille. The lower bumper plates are scratch-resistant, and the guards that wrap around the sides and wheel arches constructed from partially recycled polypropylene.

Alloy wheels are 17″ or 18″ and 19″ in the top trim, as is the black roof with a Bi-Tone body offering. New is the Indigo Blue metallic hue, elegant and understated. An imposing C-Suv at 4.57 meters long, 22 cm from the ground, 1.71 meters high and 1.81 meters wide. Inside 7″ or 10″ digital instrument cluster and 10.1″ central touchscreen.

The green line joining the two screens is elegant. The center armrest with refrigerated compartment, induction charger, usb sockets, a large storage compartment are well placed.
Seat fabrics are pleasant, simple and durable. The front seats are electrically adjustable, for seat height and backrest angle, with manually adjustable lumbar support. The interior is very spacious; five people with their respective luggage can sit comfortably.

Dual-zone climate control, with air vents for rear-seat passengers, makes even travel in borderline situations comfortable. Pleasant 6-speaker multimedia system with Akamys 3D sound system. The panoramic sunroof can be opened electrically.

The trunk, whose tailgate opens and closes electrically, has a capacity of more than 700 liters, and the 40/20/40 modularity of the rear seats makes it easy to transport bulky items. Bigster includes automatic emergency braking, road sign recognition with speeding warning, rear camera parking assist, emergency stop, lane departure warning, lane keeping assist, driver attention monitoring system and emergency call as standard.

The engines are all electrified. Bigster hybrid 155, a new generation, mounts a 107-hp 4-cylinder gasoline engine and a 50-hp electric motor, 6-speed clutchless electrified automatic transmission. This motorization offers more power, more torque and greater towing capacity.

Fuel consumption has been reduced by 6%. Bigster hybrid 155, which always starts in electric mode, circulates in the city up to 80% in electric mode thanks to regenerative braking. Also planned is the mild hybrid 140, also LPG with a range of 1,450 km, which combines a 1.2-liter 3-cylinder turbocharged gasoline engine assisted by a 48 V mild-hybrid system and 6-speed manual transmission. And again Bigster 130 4 X4, 48V mild hybrid, 20 percent less CO2 than the non-electrified version, 1.5-ton towing capacity, six driving modes, auto, snow, sand, off-road and eco, and downhill speed control system.

On the roads of Provence we drive it with ease, despite its large size, impressed by the sound insulation compared to the previous model. Good response from the new engine even on the most demanding routes. Bigster hybrid 155, Extreme, costs 31,300 euros.
