Dacia Sandriders, ready for the first adventure in Morocco

ROME (ITALPRESS) – This week, Dacia Sandriders will enter the world of competition for the first time by participating in the Morocco Rally (Oct. 6-11) with Nasser Al-Attiyah / E’douard Boulanger, Cristina Gutièrrez / Pablo Moreno and Sèbastien Loeb / Fabian Lurquin. This flagship race of the 2024 FIA World Rally-Raid Championship will serve as a testing ground for the Dakar to be held next January in Saudi Arabia. After a series of intensive tests in the United Kingdom, France and Morocco over the summer, the Dacia Sandriders will benefit from the lessons of this rally, often regarded as a “mini-Dakar,” a test par excellence for vehicles and drivers. As much as the Morocco Rally (which covers 2,468 kilometers of competition), is a first for the Dacia Sandriders, the crews already boast a great deal of experience in African rally-raids. The skills they have acquired provide them with a solid foundation to grow further. In particular, Nasser Al-Attiyah, a five-time Dakar winner who won this rally in 2021. “In less than three months, we will be in Saudi Arabia for the Dakar, an extraordinary human challenge. But before you set out to race, you have to learn to walk and that is why we are participating in this last round of the FIA World Rally-Raid Championship 2024. We will thus improve our preparation and validate the work done during testing. After five test sessions, here we are ready to face our first official race. It is a dress rehearsal in real conditions before we set off for the Dakar. It is a feat that requires considerable effort from the whole team, and I am very proud of the work done by everyone. There is incredible dedication,” said Tiphanie Isnard, Team Principal of the Dacia Sandriders.
