NAPLES (ITALPRESS) – They did not accept their daughter’s sexual orientation and locked her in the house. It happened in Herculaneum, in the province of Naples, where a couple was arrested by Carabinieri for kidnapping and family abuse.
It is evening and a 20-year-old woman contacts 112. She calls for help for her girlfriend who is 19 years old. The romantic relationship between the two had never been tolerated by the 19-year-old’s parents. Mom and dad, who are 47 and 43 years old respectively and are incensed, go to the town of St. Anthony Abbot. They had already threatened the girls with setting fire to the 20-year-old’s home, and for this reason the two had found hospitality with a friend of theirs. The 19-year-old’s parents, however, installed a gps in their daughter’s cell phone and find the girls by showing up under the house. They forcefully take their daughter amidst the screams of those present. They snatch the smartphone from her hands, grab her by the arms and drag her to put her in the car and then drive away. The scene is captured by video surveillance cameras outside the home, and the carabinieri acquire the footage.
Hearing the story and seeing the footage, military officers from the Torre del Greco company rush to the home of the girl picked up shortly before by her parents. Carabinieri arrive on the scene and activate the bodycam. Before the break-in, screams and a woman’s crying are heard coming from inside the apartment. Once inside, they note the presence of the victim. She is forced to stay at home and at that moment she is on the couch in her maternal grandmother’s arms crying in despair. She cannot go outside and cannot have contact with the outside world. The military listens to the story of the 19-year-old girl who recounts, in addition to the events that just took place, other incidents of violence, beatings and threats by her parents to force her to break off her romantic relationship. The girl’s father and mother were arrested for kidnapping and family abuse. The victim decided to leave her home.
