Double bronze at the World Taekwondo Poomsae Championships for the Azzurri

ROME (ITALPRESS) – The first day of the World Taekwondo Poomsae Championships, which are being held inside the Hong Kong Coliseum, gives Italy a double joy. In fact, at the individual level – in the Cadet category for women -, Greta Mascherino was the author of a long and structured path, which started from the sixteenth final and saw her reach the final phase where she was able to conquer a historic bronze medal in the forms that had been missing for 11 years: “It was a very difficult competition – says the Roman – I did my best, believing in it until the end. It is an incredible satisfaction, also because it comes after a long preparation and a long wait. This medal repays me for all the sacrifices I made: it is really a great emotion. I want to thank Fita and the teammates and comrades who supported me on this path. “The second medal concerns the Mixed Team Over 17 in Freestyle. The formation composed of Andrea Norbiato, Beatrice Coradeschi, Federico Serain, Luca Ferella, Luca Matellini and Valentina Arlotti took the third step of the podium at the end of a very intense day. An exceptional result, also because it marked Italy’s first-ever rainbow medal in this specialty: “We experienced something incredible,” the 6 medalists recount. “We had important expectations: we wanted to make history and we did it. It was not easy, because we had to overcome difficult moments to get to this result: we are really happy.” The World Taekwondo Poomsae Championships will continue tomorrow with Day 2 of competitions. Competing in the Asian event, for Italy, will be Filippo Di Vincenzo (Freestyle – Individual Under 17), Gao li He, Giuditta Carlini, Claudia Cianci (Poomsae – Team) and Francesco De Marco (Poomsae – Individual Male Under 30).- Photo press office Italian Taekwondo Federation -(ITALPRESS).
