Duties, Trump “April 2 Liberation Day, but there will be flexibility”

WASHINGTON (U.S.) (ITALPRESS) – U.S. President Donald Trump reiterated that tariffs on products imported into the U.S. will be triggered on April 2, which he called “Liberation Day.” Speaking from the Oval Office, Trump said about the European Union that “it is very tough” with the United States. “But now it’s only fair that we also do to them what they do to us,” he added.

According to Trump, however, there will be “flexibility” in applying the new tariffs on products imported from trading partners around the world. “People come to me and talk about tariffs, and a lot of people ask me if they can have exceptions. And once you do it for one, you have to do it for all,” Trump said. “The word flexibility is an important word. Sometimes there is flexibility, so there will be flexibility.”
