MILAN (ITALPRESS) – AC Milan does not go beyond a 1-1 draw against Roma in the match at the Meazza: a Paulo Dybala goal answered Tijjani Reijnders’ initial lead. The match was vibrant from the very first minutes, with Dybala attempting a conclusion at 3′ that was easily blocked by Maignan. Three minutes later it is Reijnders who attempts a shot from the distance on Theo Hernandez’s support, but Svilar makes the ball his own in two times. In the other half Hummels tried with a header, but it did not trouble Maignan. In the 11th minute comes the first big chance of the match for the Giallorossi, who hit a glaring post with Dovbyk after a nice choral action. Paulo Fonseca’s boys reacted immediately and at 16′ went ahead with the goal of the usual Reijnders, who received from the left by Fofana and pierced Svilar. Not even time to metabolize the disadvantage, that Roma risked suffering the 2-0: nice ball by Jimenez for Morata, who turns it on the first post missing the goal by a whisker. In the 23′ Roma got back to building an excellent play, which this time led to Paulo Dybala’s equalizing goal: fantastic backheel pass from Dovbyk for the Argentine, who kicks first time and makes it 1-1. Tempers flared in the end of the first half following an intervention in the box by Pisilli on Reijnders and Fabbri was forced to draw a yellow card for Theo Hernandez and Morata and a red one for coach Paulo Fonseca. Seconds before halftime Chukwueze penetrates the opponent’s area and puts in the middle for Reijnders, who is anticipated by the Capitoline defense. In the second half, both coaches make substitutions, but it is always the usual ones who create the main dangers: first Maignan fends off a Dovbyk shot and then Pisilli saves on Fofana. In 54′ the newly-entered Bennacer attempts a shot from outside and forces Svilar and deflect into the corner. A couple of minutes later the Giallorossi’s extreme defender performs a miracle on a Chukwueze shot aimed at the crossbar of the posts. Just at his best moment the Nigerian suffers an injury and has to leave the field to Abraham. In 78′ nice cue by Pisilli, who breaks free from the Rossoneri defenders but misses at the moment of conclusion. In the final, Milan suffers and Claudio Ranieri’s boys try to win it: a conclusion by El Shaarawy on which Maignan overcomes with a great intervention. Despite the chances of Pellegrini and Dybala, the Rossoneri resisted the Giallorossi assault and defended the 1-1 until the triple whistle.
