CAIRO (EGYPT) (ITALPRESS) – Egypt welcomed 13,6 million tourists from the beginning of the year to the middle of September, while the government aims to reach 20 million by the end of 2026. The Egyptian daily Al Shorouk reported it, citing statements by the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Sherif Fathy, on the edge of the Al Ahram Forum on Tourism, hosted by the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in Cairo.
Fathy emphasized that the diversification of the tourist offer represents one of the main strengths of the Egyptian destination, highlighting the potential of cultural, seaside, recreational and desert tourism.
The minister also illustrated the efforts to modernize tourism promotion through new technologies and artificial intelligence and stressed the need to attract further investment, particularly in the hotel sector, to increase receptive capacity and support the expected growth of arrivals.
