ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The Southern Governor of Sinai, in Egypt, General Ismail Kamal, attended the conclusion of the training sessions of the Italian national swimming in free waters, held at the Sports Development Centre of Sharm El-Sheikh.
The event marked the end of the preparation camp of the blue team, held in March, in the presence of the deputy governor Inas Samir, of the Italian Honorary Consul at Sharm El-Sheikh Fabio Brucini, of General Nader Allam, president of the city of Sharm El-Sheikh, and of Mohamed Fathi, director of Youth and Sport.
During the visit, the Italian delegation thanked the governor of South Sinai for the facilities provided by the province, which contributed to the full success of the training camp. The blues have emphasized how the choice of Sharm El-Sheikh has happened between different competing destinations, thanks to the excellent sports facilities of the city, the ideal climate for training, the quality of the services offered and the waters suitable for aquatic disciplines.
The delegation also highlighted the participation of other Italian teams at the training period: the Turin team (from 27 February to 11 March), the Aurelio team (from 2 to 12 March) and the Sondrio team (from 27 February to 10 March). Everyone confirmed their intention to repeat these camps annually in Sharm El-Sheikh.
The governor welcomed the Italian national team and other international sports teams, underlining how the hospitality of these retreats contributes to promoting sports tourism and attracting further high-level teams and national teams to Sharm El-Sheikh. Kamal has remarked that the city has unique characteristics that make it a preferred destination for international sports retreats: mild climate in winter, warm waters ideal for water sports, modern infrastructure, state-of-the-art sports facilities and a diversified tourist offer.
“The Egyptian province – the governor has concluded – is committed to strongly support this type of tourism that unites sports and vacation, strengthening the position of Sharm El-Sheikh as a global destination for events and international sports preparation camps.”.
