ROME (ITALPRESS) – Mercedes-Benz’s youngest range opens its doors to newly licensed drivers: A-Class, B-Class, GLA, GLB, CLA and CLA Shooting Brake equipped with the two variants 180 petrol and 180 Diesel, with 85 and 100 hp respectively, all fall within the parameters that allow their use by those who get behind the wheel of a car for the first time. An opportunity that also extends to the two entry models of the Star’s full-electric family: the EQA 250+ and EQB 250+. The traditional powertrain offering stands out for its efficiency and dynamism, thanks in part to recent upgrades that have hybridized the entire range of gasoline engines, which are now equipped with a 48-volt on-board auxiliary electric system that supports the start-up phase with 10 kW more power. In addition, during braking, the RSG recovers and charges the 48-volt battery. The energy thus generated can be used during acceleration processes to support the combustion engine. The 180 d represents another excellence in terms of efficiency, with fuel consumption of up to 20 km/l and a range on a full tank that can exceed 800 km, depending on the model. As for the full electric offering for novice drivers, two of the most successful models in the Star’s 100% electric range are available: the EQA and EQB, which, in the 250+ motorizations, thanks to the 70.5 kWh battery, allow a range that exceeds 500 km WLTP. “Beyond the parameters related to weight and power, which today allow novice drivers the opportunity to drive a wide choice of our entry models, it is important to guarantee a young person, who gets behind the wheel of a car for the first time, the most advanced active and passive safety systems. All our cars, regardless of segment, benefit, as standard, from a comprehensive driver assistance package, which is a strong contribution in enhancing safety, especially for those who are less experienced,” says Paola Ardillo, Head of Product Management at Mercedes-Benz Italy All models, a portfolio ranging from hatchbacks to Shooting Brake, via SUVs, coupe sedans and Sport Tourers, offer as many as seven different equipment options to please different characters and needs.
