HOBART (AUSTRALIA) (ITALPRESS) – Elisabetta Cocciaretto celebrates the second Wta title in career. On the Italian night the 24-year-old of Ancona won the “Hobart International”, Wta 250 with a prize pool of 283,347 dollars went stage on the concrete fields of the capital of Tasmania, Australia.
La Cocciaretto, number 80 of the world, won in the final 6-4 against American teenager Iva Jovic, number 30 of the rankings and third favorite of seeding. Second Italian after Rita Grande 25 years ago to sign his name in the tournament’s gold hose, the Marchena then hits his second claim in the major circuit after that of 2023 in Lausanne (baked in the final Clara Burel), when he also reached the final in Hobart, surrendering to Lauren Davis.
Followed in Australia as always by coach Fausto Scolari, Cocciaretto had started from qualifying and Monday should be around 56th place in the Wta ranking.
