ROMA (ITALPRESS) – “We intend to attract new foreign capitals, within the framework of a system that secures companies even through, where necessary, the wise and strategic use of special powers.” So the Minister of Enterprises and Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso, at the question time of the Chamber. “Today an authoritative observatory on the exercise of Golden Power highlights the evolution of the instrument from passive to active, aimed at the protection of strategic chains. This is also corrupted by the new legislation that contrasts delocalizations: anyone who receives public incentives and leaves the country will have to return what has been achieved in the previous 10 years,” Urso points out.
“The protection of historical brands is a government priority and is part of a wider strategy, aimed at ensuring productive continuity, employment and industrial rooting. In this context, attention is not directed to the color of capital, but to the ability of foreign investments to keep businesses and factories alive,” he continued.
Italy “is the only country to have introduced a specific protection of its historical brands. We have further intervened in the law on small and mediumsized enterprises approved a few days ago by establishing a fund to which historical enterprises can access to acquire other historical enterprises at risk, thus avoiding that historical brands in crisis can end up in the hands of outsiders to the sector, animated by speculative purposes and, where possible, we also evaluate with wisdom and effectiveness the use of Golden Power. This industrial policy has been successful: today the historical brands registered in the register are 977 and represent an extraordinary force that all envy us, the historical heart of Made in Italy that attracts more and more foreign capitals,” Urso concludes.
