ROME (ITALPRESS) – Ford Transit is the fourth Ford Pro commercial vehicle to win the Platinum safety award given by the independent body Euro NCAP. This recognition confirms the highest safety standards guaranteed by Ford Pro and available on the entire next-generation Transit range, following Platinum awards already won this year by the Transit Custom, and the Transit Connect, as well as the Transit Courier in 2023. “Safety is a key consideration for businesses, and Euro NCAP’s Platinum rating for the entire Transit family demonstrates Ford Pro’s ongoing commitment to protecting both drivers and cargo,” said Hans Schep, general manager of Ford Pro Europe.Transit had already distinguished itself among the best-performing vans in terms of safety when Euro NCAP had introduced a new commercial vehicle testing program in 2020, earning Gold recognition. This year, Ford Pro subjected the new generation Transit to rigorous testing according to the latest protocols, after adding technologies such as Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking, Lane Keeping Alert & Aid, and Intelligent Speed Assist6 to the already comprehensive standard suite of driver assistance systems.These technologies help prevent or mitigate collisions, keep drivers in the correct lane of travel, and automatically manage speed. Transit earned an overall score of 95 percent, achieving the highest score for driver safety monitoring and lane keeping assist. “The new generation Transit (2024 onwards) excels in every area and becomes the latest Ford Pro commercial vehicle to achieve a Platinum rating. With safety technologies similar to that of newer cars, Transit sets a new standard for commercial vehicles,” Euro NCAP said. The Platinum rating refers to the fourth generation Transit, produced from 2024 onward.
