Etape Italy doubles, two dates of 2026

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – Etape Italy doubles and offers in 2026, for the first time, two events, presented today in Rome. The official format of the Tour de France dedicated to amateur cycling in Italy, reached its third year, presents two distinct stages, called “Étape Piemonte”, scheduled next May 31, and “Ètape Mondovì”, which will take place instead on September 20. A choice, to offer no more one, but two appointments, a symptom of the fact that the initiative brought in Italy in 2024 likes, because it allows cyclists to live, in person, the authentic experience of a stage of the Tour: the same organizational standards, the same attention to safety, the same iconic atmosphere.

To open the event, the Minister of Tourism, Daniela Santanché, for which Piedmont is “profume of home”. “I believe that these events have a very important impact on tourism”, because “they also help to know territories and places that are less known, but that is not why they are less beautiful”, said the Minister. For this reason, for Santanche, Etape Italy is “not only a race, but an international showcase, which will become a huge tool of visibility for our territories”.

Shetape Piemonte will offer a cross-country trail and one of granfondo, both with departure and arrival in Entracque and with the route that winds through the province of Cuneo. In Mondovì will take place the second edition of the Granfondo Alpi del Mare, after the great success of 2025, with a path of 110 kilometers. The foundation of the project is the collaboration between Ept and ExtraGiro. Marco Pavarini, co-director of ExtraGiro, emphasizes the success of Etape Italy, since the first edition of Parma, which brought in Emilia “not only many participants from abroad, but also a great economic relapse on the territory”. For Flavio Borgna, managing director of Ept, finally, the most important ingredient is “the passion for finding answers from the territory closes the circle and repays us for this effort”.
