Ettorre remains president of Federvela “Now raise the bar”

ROME (ITALPRESS) – Raising the bar to confirm itself at the highest level through promotion and investment. This is the goal of Francesco Ettorre, re-elected president of the Italian Sailing Federation for the third consecutive term. An almost total acclamation, that obtained during the elective assembly held at the Ergife Hotel in Rome: Ettorre, in fact, collected 96.33% of the preferences out of the 490 votes cast (18 blank ballots). A success anticipated by a standing ovation at the end of the speech closing the quadrennium. “So much participation, so many eligible voters who came to vote, this means we have attention to this world. I’m particularly moved by the affection shown to me,” the president explained after the re-election. Having closed an “absolutely fantastic four-year term for the federation,” the gaze is already turned to the future, to continue that growth in results (from 81 medals obtained at continental and world level in 2022 to 108 in 2024) that is the fruit of investment and promotion. “Confirming is always very complicated, but we have reached an important technical level and it is necessary to raise the bar,” Ettorre explained, “We are already doing it, we are reassembling the teams and the technical staff. Then a lot of training, as we have already done in recent years. I am convinced that with the quality of our athletes, the clubs that are behind the boys, the military sports groups, all together we can, if not improve, certainly confirm an excellent level.” At the same time, the Federal Council was elected, which sees Caterina Marianna Banti and Ivan Branciamore in the athletes’ quota, Guido Ricetto in the technicians’ quota and, in the affiliates’ quota, Fabio Giuseppe Colella, Domenico Foschini, Andrea Leonardi, Maurizio Buscemi, Giuseppe D’Amico, Antonietta De Falco and Nadia Alessandra Meroni.- photo Spf/Italpress -(ITALPRESS).
