ROME (ITALPRESS) – Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni met with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
“The colloquium,” a note from Palazzo Chigi reads, “allowed for an in-depth discussion of the issues on the European Council’s agenda, starting with the relaunch of competitiveness and the strengthening of defense in all its areas, focusing in particular on aspects related to investment financing. In this regard, President Meloni reiterated the need to emphasize the participation of private capital, for example through the Invest-EU model, as proposed by the Italian side, and truly common European instruments that do not weigh directly on the debt of states.”
