ROME (ITALPRESS) – The Mercedes-Benz C-Class has received the top score of “very good” in the current Euro NCAP rating for driver assistance systems1. The tested model scored a total of 182 points. C-Class won this test among five other competitors, scoring 85 percent in the Assistance Competence area and 97 percent in Safety Backup. Particularly good results came from Active Emergency Stop Assist: The vehicle is able to change lanes to the right or left (depending on the country) and stop in a controlled manner if the driver is no longer able to drive, for example in the event of illness. “Safety is essential to Mercedes-Benz. Our top priority is to avoid or at least reduce the severity of accidents in real traffic scenarios. We are proud that independent organizations such as Euro NCAP confirm the very high level of performance of our assistance systems. The result of this test has once again confirmed our competence in the development of driver assistance and safety systems,” says Markus Schà fer, Member of the Board of Management of Mercedes-Benz Group AG, CTO, Development and Purchasing.The excellent result of the C-Class comes after the excellent performance of the EQE sedan (2022), EQE SUV (2023) and E-Class (2023) in the Euro NCAP special evaluation for driver assistance systems. With 85 percent proficiency in assistance and 100 percent in safety backup, the EQE sedan has, in fact, recorded the highest result ever. With more than 40 driver assistance systems, Mercedes-Benz models help increase safety for all road users. The C-Class with the optional Driving Assistance Plus package includes features such as DISTRONIC Active Distance Assist incl. Active Steering Assist, Active Overspeed Assist and Active Stop-and-Go Assist, Active Lane Change Assist, Active Emergency Stop Assist, Evasive Steering Assist, Active Lane Keeping Assist, Active Blind Spot Assist, Attention Assist, Active Brake Assist with Cross Traffic function, as well as Pre-Safe Plus and Pre-Safe Impulse Side.
