ROMA (ITALPRESS) – The Minister of Enterprises and Made in Italy, Adolfo Urso, met at Mimit the president of the Liguria Region, Marco Bucci, and the mayor of Genoa, Silvia Salis, to make the point on the future of the former Ilva and the perspectives of relaunch of the Genoa-Cornigliano plant.
The commissarial structure is working on a path that can respond to the main demand of the workers, i.e. to put into operation the line of the galvanized, balancing it with the production of the tinned band, with the total numbers of the employees who were communicated last week.
The minister Urso also reiterated to the Ligurian institutions that there is no closing plan and that the maintenance program started in Taranto is oriented to restore a productive capacity of 4 million tons. The reduction of coil flows to the North is therefore temporary, linked to the works on the plants, in view of the production resumption. Urso finally confirmed that the Government is fully committed to ensuring the production continuity of the plants and the path of decarbonization, also evaluating the intervention of a public subject, where required and necessary, in support of the industrial plan.
