LAS VEGAS (USA) (ITALPRESS) – Lando Norris takes the stage in the Friday of the Las Vegas Grand Prix, the twenty-second round of the F1 World Championship. McLaren driver scores the best time of the day in the second session in 1’33′′602, session not yet indicative of what could be the weekend trend due to security problems related to a tombino (as in 2023), which led to two red flags and the early closing of the session.
However, Norris closed in front of Andrea Kimi Antonelli on Mercedes (+0′′′029), third Charles Leclerc at 0′′161. The Ferrari Monegasque had been the fastest in the morning session, stopping the chronometer at 1’34′′′802, preceding Alexander Albon (Williams) of 0′′′′′′166 and Yuki Tsunoda (Red Bull) of 0′′′′269.
In the afternoon, however, he also had to deal with a suspicious exchange problem, stopping on track a few minutes from the end of the session. In difficulty Lewis Hamilton with the other Red: eleventh in FP1, tenth in FP2 behind Max Verstappen. Friday complicated also for Oscar Piastri, who in the first session only tears the eighth time while a few hours later concludes fourteenth.
