KVITFJELL (NORWAY) (ITALPRESS) – Federica Brignone wins the super-G in Kvitfjell, valid for the Women’s Alpine Skiing World Cup. The Aosta Valley native (1’30″11), her 35th World Cup victory, beats Lara Gut-Behrami by just six hundredths and gains another 20 points over the Swiss in the overall standings. Third was an excellent Sofia Goggia just nine hundredths off the top. Brignone’s eighth World Cup victory of the season allows her to stretch even further at the top of the overall standings: 1194 are her points, with the gap over Gut Behrami widening to 251 lengths; Sofia Goggia, on the other hand, jumps to third with 771. The Ticino native retains the red bib as specialty leader at 465 and a lead of 55 points over Brignone (410) and 159 over Goggia (306). There are 80 podiums for Federica Brignone, 60 for Sofia Goggia. New Zealand’s Alice Robinson is fourth at 0″22 and Norway’s Kajsa Vickhoff Lie fifth at 0″27. In points Laura Pirovano (17th at 1″26), Asja Zenere (20th at 1″36), Roberta Melesi (25th at 2″11) and Nicol Delago (28th at 2″37). Exits for Marta Bassino, who came down with the first bib, and Emma Aicher, winner of yesterday’s downhill.
