CORTINA (ITALPRESS) – Lindsey Vonn was taken away from the Cortina track after the ruinous fall in the Olympic descent. In fact, it lasted just over 10 seconds the Olympic dream of the American outclass at the Winter Games in Milan-Cortina. At the starting gate of the descent of Cortina despite the break of the front crusade of the left knee, the 41-year-old American fell badly on the initial stretch of the Olympia delle Tofane.
Gold in the specialty in Vancouver 2010, Vonn’s career might have ended up here. Retired in 2019 and back to compete at the end of 2024 in view of Milan-Cortina, also tempted by the prospect of playing a medal on a track where he had collected 12 wins in the World Cup, the American champion had fallen on January 30 in Crans Montana.
