Fiasconaro brings Sicilian Christmas tradition to New York with the first pop-up shop in the United States

From October 14, 2025 to January 15, 2026, Fiasconaro — the legendary home of family-run pastries, now in the third generation and born in Castelbuono (Palermo), Sicily — will open its first temporary store in the United States, at 422 West Broadway, open daily (lun–dom) from 11:00 to 19:00. The New Yorkers can thus discover the most iconic artisan panettone of Sicily, in the heart of SoHo.

For Italians, panettone is much more than a dessert: is a symbol of celebrations, a rite of sharing, gift and conviviality. Fiasconaro has transformed this tradition into an international ambassador that combines secular techniques and precious ingredients such as Sicilian pistachios, citrus fruits and Marsala wine. His panettones are considered among the best in the world — and in 2023 one of them was chosen as an official gift for President Joe Biden, confirming the overall prestige of the brand.

Although the panettone remains its signature, the art of Fiasconaro extends to many other Sicilian specialties: Torroni, spreadable creams and handmade desserts. New York pop-up will tell this variety, becoming not only a destination for Christmas traditions but also a place of celebration of the gift, perfect for Thanksgiving and winter holidays.

Already known in New York thanks to gourmet retailers like Eataly, Fiasconaro now opens its own home: an immersive experience made of tastings, gift collections curated and stories that interweave the Sicilian heritage with the energy of Manhattan.

“This operation marks a new phase in our internationalization process and reflects the growth of the brand in the US market, which today represents our main foreign market, equal to 13% of export turnover”, says Agata Fiasconaro, Brand Manager.

At international level, Fiasconaro has received numerous awards, including the Christopher Columbus Medal in New York, awarded to Pasticcere Master Nicola Fiasconaro for his role in promoting Italian excellence in the world. Thanks to the collaboration with Dolce&Gabbana, the brand has redefined the panettone as a meeting between high fashion and sweet art, a real celebration of Made in Italy and Mediterranean culture.

Radiated in the medieval village of Castelbuono — candidate in 2023 to become the UNESCO Creative City of Gastronomy — Fiasconaro embodies the harmony between tradition and innovation, growing in the world without sacrificing its own artisan roots.

With the pop-up of SoHo, Fiasconaro invites New York to rediscover the panettone as a symbol of tradition and innovation, a cultural bridge where parties are celebrated with generosity, art and Sicilian soul.

“Tradition is the foundation of Sicilian pastry: it binds us to our history and culture,” says Nicola Fiasconaro. “I always try to respect those roots, but add my creativity. Every sweet tells a story… Passion nourishes everything: without it, the art of pastry would not be the same. The panettone is not only a beloved dessert, it is a collective experience of celebration and sharing. Bringing it to New York and all the United States means offering the international public a fragment of Sicilian culture and craftsmanship. We want to grow in foreign markets and remain deeply linked to our land. The challenge is to combine management vision and artisan identity, focusing on traceability, local supply chains and quality of raw materials. ”
