Fiat sets the foundations for the future of urban mobility

TORINO (ITALPRESS) – Fiat launches an ambitious design project that involves the next generation of young designers, called to conceptualize the compact car of tomorrow.

A collaboration that combines FIAT and a group of talented students from two prestigious Italian design schools – IED Istituto Europeo di Design di Torino and ISIA Roma Design – with the aim of interpreting the future of urban mobility through the lens of the brand values: compactness, strong personality and unmistakable DNA. The project involves students in a complete design path: from research, through moodboards, sketches and models, to the final narrative.

At the heart of the initiative there is a unique dialogue that embraces three generations of design. The two voices that guide students are those of Maestro Giorgetto Giugiaro, President Stile GFG and one of the most influential automotive designers ever, and François Leboine, Fiat Head of Design, to represent the continuous evolution of the brand. Both leading design figures will enrich dialogue and provide guidance through their unparalleled experience, inspiring young designers from IED and ISIA to shape the next chapter of Fiat’s urban mobility.

Students were encouraged to embrace the timeless philosophy of Fiat “Less is more” – a principle rooted in the original and emblematic Panda of Italian ingenuity – and challenged to rethink how space, weight and materials can be used to pursue intelligent, accessible and personality-rich solutions. The goal is to realize the idea of a new urban vehicle that is authentically FIAT: compact, functional, joyful, innovative and focused on man.

In addition to the final product, this collaboration aims to highlight the stages of the creative process and how the brand’s DNA translates into concrete emotions and ideas, with a film crew that will document the experience to offer a look behind the scenes on the energy and imagination that animate this challenge.

Finally, a special jury will select three finalists, who will have the incredible opportunity to present their work during an exclusive Fiat event at Milan Design Week, which will be held from 20 to 26 April.
