TURIN (ITALPRESS) – “Compared to last year, we have sold 7 percent more tickets.” This is the positive figure announced by Umberto Gandini, president of Lega Basket Serie A, during the presentation of the new edition of the Final Eight, which for the third consecutive year will be held in Turin, in the setting of the Inalpi Arena, from February 12 to 16. Numbers that are smiling, if one also takes into account the nearly 38 thousand coupons sold: Sunday, February 16, the day of the men’s and women’s finals, has already sold out, while more than 6 thousand tickets for the semifinals have been snapped up. The eight teams that will compete for the 49th Coppa Italia in history are Germani Brescia, Trapani Shark, Dolomiti Energia Trentino, Virtus Segafredo Bologna, EA7 Emporio Armani Milano, UNAHOTELS Reggio Emilia, Pallacanestro Trieste and Bertram Derthona Tortona. The Women’s Basketball League Final Four Frecciarossa has been confirmed again this year, which will play the semifinals on Friday 14 and the finals on Sunday 16 at 12:30 pm. President Gandini also spoke out on the reconfirmation of the event under the Mole: “The premises are there, it depends a lot on the support that the institutions will want to give us, we are very happy to continue and to have the possibility to bring to Turin the 50th Coppa Italia in 2026 – he said – A facility like the Inalpi Arena is essential, there are not so many in Italy, this is certainly the most modern and is also trained to host events of this level, since the 2006 Olympics. Facilities in Italy are a problem, soon we will inaugurate the new sports citadel in Tortona. It is very important to do this, otherwise the big events will not come through us. “For the 2025 edition of the Frecciarossa Final Eight, made possible also thanks to the contribution of the Minister for Sports and Youth, Andrea Abodi, the Lega Basket Serie A will dedicate a space in the foyer of the Inalpi Arena for the dissemination of a series of off-court activities such as the promotion of the National Youth Charter, the Giovani2030 platform and other initiatives that integrate with the sports and engagement activities of the event. “The socio-economic impact of events of this type is valuable, just think that every euro spent generates an induced activity equal to 5 times as much,” explains Flavio Siniscalchi, Head of the Department for Sport. “If we manage to increase the number of those who take up a sporting activity, it will also be thanks to the possibility of having facilities capable of accommodating an ever-increasing number of spectators and in which to carry out this discipline, with the opening of 100 new playgrounds to be built throughout the country. A new feature of this year’s event is that, on the courts provided in the foyer, Baskin competitions will be held, i.e., “BasketballIntegrated” with males and females, disabled and able-bodied, to fulfill a moment of true integration through sports. The Frecciarossa Final Eight for the third consecutive year will support the cancer care and research work of the Candiolo-IRCCS Institute, relaunching “A triple for Candiolo”: for every basket made during the tournament, Lega Basket will make a donation of 100 euros, in favor of the daily work of the doctors and researchers of the Candiolo Institute-IRCCS. “If we go to see what has happened in the last two editions, we should expect even more enthusiasm and fun, considering also the balance there is among the teams in the league, where we have Milan and Virtus Bologna who for the moment are not the masters. We expect big surprises in this edition,” said Carlton Myers, testimonial of this third Turin edition of the Final Eight.- photo xn3/Italpress -(ITALPRESS).
