ROME (ITALPRESS) – Fiorentina returned to winning ways after a long fast. The Viola won 2-1 at home to Lazio in the match at the Olimpico valid for the 22nd day of the championship: goals by Yacine Adli and Lucas Beltran decided. Red-hot finish with, among many others, Marusic shortening, Pedro hitting the post and the two coaches ejected. Match immediately alive. The hosts try to push on the accelerator and after only two minutes go to the conclusion with Castellanos, but Pongracic opposes and deflects in corner. On the development of the corner kick Marusic attempts the framing, but only finds the outside of the net. On 6′ comes the first ring of the purple formation with Gudmundsson, who kicks from the distance missing the goal mirror. In the 11th minute, Marusic loses a bloody ball and triggers the Tuscans’ restart with Gosens, who serves a perfect assist for Adli: the former AC Milan player kicks on the volley and scores the winning goal. Not even time to reorganize for the biancocelesti, that Fiorentina scores the doubling goal on 17′ with Lucas Beltran: another great action by the violets with Dodò who crosses in the middle for the Argentine who, with his header, deposits the ball in the back of the net. Lazio tried to react and in 26′ it was Pellegrini who attempted a left-footed shot from the distance, but his shot was inaccurate. Baroni’s boys pushed in search of an equalizer, but in 34′ they risked capitulating with Gudmundsson’s splendid backhand shot, which smashed against the post. In 38′ Gosens makes a providential intervention in the box on Dia and foils the threat born on the development of a corner. In the second half, Baroni tried to shake up his team and, at 51′, the Tuscans took a big risk due to a ball lost by Pongracic, which triggered a counterattack by Pedro, whose shot was deflected by Gosens. At 64′ Adli, seconds after being substituted, was ejected from the bench for protests. Lazio carved out a resounding chance to open the contest again in 67′ with a header from Dia that created some trouble for De Gea; eventually the visiting rearguard managed to clear. Final onslaught and at 92′ Baroni’s team gave itself hope thanks to a header scored by Adam Marusic on an assist from Hysaj. The same Montenegrin a few minutes later came close to a resounding double, which was denied by a great save by De Gea. With time practically running out Pedro hit the post that broke the dreams of a comeback.
