EMPOLI (ITALPRESS) – Two flashes in a Bologna dominance as barren as ball possession percentages. Colombo anticipates the Felsina defense, Dominguez sends the 2,500 Rossoblù hearts still enraptured by the Champions League into raptures. In between so much balance and little lucidity of Italiano’s boys in serving the strikers until the end. First half marked by a fierce pressing by Empoli that hounded Bologna. It starts with a pass from Moro for Lucumi (3′), Vasquez is ready to repel the threat. Then the two teams study each other, at 21′ Beukema shuts down Gyasi, but at 24′ Fazzini goes down, offloads for Pezzella who crosses for Colombo’s winning touch at the first post. The Var confirms as Skorupski gets treatment for the hit he took. Dominguez claims a penalty, the game gets heated, a gratuitous foul by Grassi ignites a principle of a brawl barely quelled by La Penna. At the end of the half Bologna’s superb equalizer with a cross from the left by Lykogiannis on which Dominguez coordinated on the volley and sent the ball under Vasquez’s legs. In the second half, Bologna got off to a strong start but Empoli’s attitude did not change. Esposito shoots hard but centrally, Skorupski parries, on the other front Odgaard engages Vasquez with a deflected shot from the edge. It is saved on a dive by the Empoli goalkeeper. Bologna always on the assault in the final too. Vasquez closes again on Beukema while Lucumi is held up in the box (35′) and the Felsinei claim a penalty. Bologna believes in it and continues to press but the Tuscans defend with order and D’Aversa in the final further lowers his center of gravity. The guests attack in search of the winning goal but Empoli does not give up a precious point in the salvation key. – Photo Image -(ITALPRESS).
