Flood in Argentina, at least 16 killed and 900 displaced

BUENOS AIRES (ARGENTINA) (ITALPRESS) – At least 16 people have been killed by floods in the Bahia Blanca and Cerri areas of southwestern Argentina. According to media reports in Buenos Aires, some 900 people are displaced and about 100 are missing.

Argentine President Javier Milei has declared three days of national mourning. A statement issued by the presidency specifies that the national government, together with local authorities, remains committed to assisting the affected population, which is already receiving via Air Force flights basic necessities. Also according to the presidency note, the Ministry of Economy has approved financial aid to the municipality of Bahia Blanca worth 10 billion pesos (about 8.7 million euros) to cope with the situation caused by the natural disaster.
