Florence Airport arrests passenger with 10kg of liquid cocaine

FLORENCE (ITALPRESS) – Florence Customs and Monopolies Agency officials on duty at the “Vespucci” airport, together with Guardia di Finanza soldiers, arrested a Spanish citizen from Lisbon who was found in possession of cocaine in its liquid state.

In his stowed luggage, the passenger was carrying several bottles of shampoo and shaving cream, as well as packages of fruit juice and fruit syrup, which he claimed to be carrying for friends. The considerable amount of packaged items and the man’s obvious state of agitation generated doubts in the military, which decided to investigate further.

The contents of the bottles confirmed the initial suspicion, being liquid cocaine weighing more than 10 kilograms. The passenger was placed under arrest and taken to the “Dogaia” Prison House in Prato.

What was found was seized, and subsequent analysis carried out to define the active ingredient, the actual amount of the substance, and the average individual doses that could be obtained showed that it was about 9 kilograms of cocaine, from which more than 58,000 doses would have been made, which, once placed on the market, would have yielded approximately 700,000 euros.
