For BMW Italy 2025 important year, Di Silvestre “For 2026 even more ambitious”

MILANO (ITALPRESS) – “The 2025 was an important year for BMW Italy”. This is how Massimiliano Di Silvestre, president and CEO of BMW Italia, opened at the press conference held at the House of BMW Italia in Milan to illustrate the results obtained by the Group in the year recently concluded. “Our Group adopts an industrial approach to technological openness: the drive towards the electric continues and is a major trend, but the market has shown signs that direct purchase choices towards all forms of propulsion, including traditional motorizations, on which we continue to work to improve its performance”, added Di Silvestre.

For the BMW brand, which in 2025 registered 73.230 vehicles (+3.1% compared to the previous year), the Italian branch of the car company of Monaco confirms continuity and solidity regarding the results of 2024. A leadership that also consolidates in the premium market, with a total market share of 4.8% for BMW. Important results also for the electric segment: electric cars registered in 2025 were 5,046 and for the electrified 10,305 units, with growths of 25,3% and 72,6% on an annual basis.

A result that, underlines Di Silvestre, is “a result of the work done to make the brand increasingly recognizable and consistent communication, which has allowed us to strengthen our credibility on the market. Another fundamental asset is ambidextrinism, understood as posture, attitude and modern approach to business. Then there are our partners, the 104 dealers distributed throughout the country. Finally the ecosystem: in an increasingly complex scenario, with the entry of new Asian players, we want to make a difference by focusing on a key asset like our customer dataset and using the best loyalty tools to stay in constant contact with our customers.”.

During the press conference, the best-selling models of the car manufacturer in Munich were illustrated. “The BMW X1 confirms the most sold model, with over 25 thousand units, followed by the Serie 1 with almost 10 thousand”, explained the sales manager of BMW Italia Gianluca Durante, adding that “the demand for electric cars is growing, the most demanded the IX1 with 3.041 auto admitted on a total of 5.046. We can consider ourselves market leader on the electrified.”.

Results also obtained thanks to an intense work on communication, the activation of ‘Brand Voices’, as explained by the marketing director of BMW Italia Carlo Botto Poala. “Our privileged relationship with actor Pierfrancesco Favino, our ‘Brand Voicè, has allowed us to gain an increase of 4% of BMW’s brand opinion. To him, the artists Rose Villain and Achille Lauro were added, with which we will develop projects and initiatives during 2026″. The 2025 was an exceptional year also for Mini, who recorded the sale of 16,256 units (of which 2.371 electric), in increase of 32.1% regarding 2024, reporting the brand to the usual volumes in Italy after the transition operated in 2024 with the change of the business model and the complete renewal of the range. “The most popular model is the Mini Countryman, with 7.990 cars sold.

The 2025 also distinguished itself as a record year for the sale of electricity, altogether 2.371 (+147.5% compared to 2024). Record year for the Mini JCW, the John Cooper Works, with 1,190 new registrations of which 97 electric”, explained the Head of Mini Italia Federica Manzoni. Mini’s strength lies in his “iconity and originality, with a fun and irreverent spirit that finds synthesis in the ‘Mini Way’”, he added. “In 2026 there will be a series of novelties including a special edition of Mini Cooper in collaboration with designer Paul Smith,” he concluded.

For 2026, “We are looking for even more ambitious performance and intend to work more and more on loyalty. In short, we have a test drive to test the IX3 driving experience from Milan to a destination in the Dolomites. This is a way to make the IX3 launch concrete but above all experiential”, concluded the president and managing director of Silvestre.
