For the Immaculate Bridge 8 million Italians

ROMA (ITALPRESS) – It will be eight million Italians who will leave for the Immaculate Bridge (+1 million compared to 2024) for a total expenditure of almost 3 billion. A growth encouraged by the fact that the anniversary falls on Monday (while last year was on Sunday) and thus allows to afford a long weekend outside the door. This opportunity is reflected directly on the duration of your stay: the majority of Italians leaving (45%) plans to make a holiday with two overnight stays, taking full advantage of the extended weekend, while one on four catches the opportunity to indulge a few more days on holiday. 76% will remain in Italy, 24% will move towards foreign destinations, of which 7% extra EU. These are the main data of the focus of the Confcommercio Tourism Observatory in collaboration with SWG.

Interestingly how this year, compared to the same period of 2024, the planning of the holiday is in a very advanced phase, so that about three out of four have already identified the destination, the company and the accommodation. This signal, which is also found for the other holidays of the Christmas period, shows a widespread tendency to book trips in advance with the aim of awarding the best offers and prices. Among those who leave, one out of five (19%) chooses the mountain, thanks to the presence of Christmas markets and the official start of the ski season favored by a better snowing than last year, but there is also a tendency to go to art cities and great cities to discover local culture and traditions. Over three out of four travelers have chosen to stay in Italy: Trentino Alto Adige and Tuscany are the most popular regions.
